I am a native Savannahian who was reared in the distinguished Liberty City area. I am a product of the Savannah Chatham County Public School system having graduated from A.E. Beach High School. I stayed in the Savannah area and matriculated to Savannah State University where I obtained a Bachelor of Political Science Degree. Presently, I am pursing a Master of Divinity at Morehouse School of Religion in Atlanta, Georgia.
I believe that representation matters! There is no African American male represented on the board. I believe that it is imperative for our male students to see someone who looks like them in spaces that affect them. My passion for youth and education are the main reasons in which I am running for this position. A vote for Paul E. Smith is a vote for the wellbeing of our community and an investment into our next generation.
Some of my priorities as a board member will be:
Adopting the “It takes a village” proverb into the collective approach of using the community to positively build the child and to provide a safe and healthy environment in which they can flourish.
Building a bridge, a closer relationship between teachers, parents, and students.
Enhancing the availability of universal Pre-Kindergarten.
Improving the reading level comprehension of students!
